What Do You Do For New Year's?

Every year I think I want to do something fun on New Year's eve, but I can't ever plan it. I figure other people have exciting plans already. So, once again, it will just be our little family tonight. I even made enough food to feed other people, but I guess we're just going to have it for leftovers.

If I could do anything on this holiday, it would probably be to play games WITH OTHER ADULTS. I love games, but I don't get to play them enough.

What do you do for New Year's? Do you have a tradition? Is it with family? Do you stay up until midnight?

After Christmas and all the crazy chaos, we usually spend a quiet night at home. It's Jack's b-day, so we usually have a cake, a few presents & play charades. Stay up until midnight???..I can barely make it passed 9 on most nights. Does that make me boring?? :)

Maybe we should come over and play a game or two with you? It's the kind of thing we love to do as well! I asked Nicole what she was doing & it sounded like she may not have plans either...anyone else?

I miss playing games with you! We need to plan a night for games. My mom (aka the babysitter lives in WJ)wink wink.
Every year is different for us as far as New Years Eve, this year we were going to go to First Night downtown, but we decided we are in need of a break and so is Miya so we are just staying home. We rented some movies and ordered pizza. I am actually excited to keep it quiet this year.
Let me know when you want to do a game night...Damon knows how to play Settlers now.

We should get a neighborhood group going or something since we just stayed home too.

Game night some time?

All in favor of Malisa as Chairman of the Neighborhood Game Night Committee, say Aye!

There... it is unanimous. When are we playing?

Happy New Year! I hope you ended up having fun. We just stayed home and played Rock Band until the ball dropped and then went to bed. It was actually a fun night so much fun we barely missed watching the ball drop! Crazy -- it's the first time I've missed that.

THIS New Years was with my family. Usually we have a couple of neighbors and my brother over and let the kids go wild at New York New Years (10:00) and then sometimes even until midnight. Last year we did fireworks at midnight, too.

What did you cook?

I want to be included in your neighborhood game night. My neighbors that get together drink and we have opted out so far. We had a quiet night at home watching movies with the kids. Noone even made until midnight!

Malisa,

Your comment stood out to me because of your name and how it is spelled. My middle name is Malissa. Though yours has only one S, I've never seen anyone else spell "Melissa" with an A. I had to come see your blog and "meet" you. Thank you for your kind words. You and your family look so fun and so darling!

I also got new dishes for Christmas. Love them.
